Job: Sheet Metal Mechanic
Title: Ordinance Equipment Mechanic (OEM)
Duration: Long term Contract (Possible Extension)
Location: Indianapolis IN 46219
1st shift = “flexible start” = 6am-8am arrive time and work 8-hour days.
General Summary:
Performs the following duties, and other related activities as assigned. Must demonstrate competencies necessary to meet business requirements. May perform as a member of a functional and/or cross- functional team.
Duties
- Assembly, disassembly, re-assembly, fabrication, screen, repair, adjustment, test and/or verification of complex electronic, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and structural systems in accordance with common military, commercial, and aerospace specifications.
- Typical systems include avionics, missiles, weapons controls, aircraft armament, bomb racks, launchers, and associated equipment. Electrical duties may include, but are not limited to, removal and installation of components, connectors, and wiring into cabinets, chassis, and console type assemblies.
- Mechanical duties include, but are not limited to, removal, installation, and adjustment of mechanical parts to precise tolerances.
- Structural duties may include, but are not limited to, light machining, sheet-metal work, drilling, riveting, and airframe repairs.
Education Required: High School degree or GED equivalent.
Experience Required:
- Must be able to perform duties using pneumatic tools, electric tools, hand tools, and precision measuring equipment.
- May perform informal, in-process checks on manufactured or processed items to assist authorized formal inspection and/or test personnel in determining product validation or assist other related job classifications when directed.
